Mike has more than 25 years of experience as a tax law specialist. He received his J.D. from Southwestern University School of Law in 1973, and his M.S. in Taxation from Gold Gate University in 1983. Mike is a member of the State Bar of California, Tax Sections, Estate Planning, Real Estate, and Pass Through Entities. He is also a member of the American Bar Association, the Los Angeles County Bar Association, and the Estate Planning Council of Long Beach.
In 1997, Mike received the highest rating from Martindale-Hubbell, a directory that rates attorneys nationally. Only 9% of the attorneys nationwide receive this rating. He has been listed in Martindale-Hubbell's Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers for the years 1999, 2000 and 2001. Mike is also listed in the National Registry of Who's Who 2000.
A strong commitment to community has led Mike to involvement with several key organizations in Long Beach. He currently serves as secretary of ChildNet, a non profit corporation dedicated to helping disadvantage children. He is a judge advocate for the Long Beach Yacht Club, and chaired the clubs prestigious Congressional Cup in 1998.
Mike is a past president of Buffum's Downtown YMCA, the Long Beach Marathon and most recently past chairman of Memorial Medical Center Foundation of Long Beach.
Mike served in Viet Nam as first lieutenant, 101st Airborne, Infantry Platoon Leader. He has two grown sons Greg and Chris, and lives in Long Beach with his wife, Sally and their son Nicholas. Mike finally is a grandfather in early October, 2003 with a new grandson Eric thanks to Greg and Melissa
